HACO Hiking places high importance on the safety of participants with allergies, asthma, or other health conditions.

All hikers are encouraged to disclose medical conditions during the on-boarding registration process so appropriate precautions can be taken. Depending on your health conditions, you may be asked to seek medical approval before partaking on the selected hike.

Those with asthma should carry inhalers and inform guides of their triggers. Individuals with allergies must bring necessary medication, such as EpiPens, and avoid known allergens on the trail. HACO guides are trained in first aid and respond swiftly in emergencies. A spare inhaler and Epipen will be carried as part of HACO’s emergency medical kit.

Hikes are planned with access to support and rest stops when needed. Clear communication ensures each hiker’s health needs are respected, making safety a shared priority.
